Kappa Sigma Chapter
Founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on January 15, 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is the first intercollegiate historically African American sorority. The sorority is one of the nation’s largest Greek-letter organizations, with more than 360,000 members in 1,074 chapters in the United States and several other countries. The Kappa Sigma Chapter at Washington State University was founded on May 22, 1976 as the first Black Greek letter organization on campus. The Kappa Sigma Chapter reactivated at Washington State University in Spring 2025.
